Lauren Duski, the country singer who decided to pursue music rather than dental school, was the second singer we met during the blind auditions.
She covered Jewel’s “You Were Meant for Me,” turned three chairs and joined Team Blake. By 8 a.m. the next morning, her song had cracked the Top 200 on the iTunes singles chart — the only song from the first night of blind auditions to do so.
And that turned out to be something that wasn’t going to happen very often.
In fact, it didn’t happen again until Tuesday, the final night of blind auditions.
Chris Blue took the stage with just one spot remaining in Season 12. He covered “Tracks of My Tears.” A delighted Alicia Keys snatched him up as the final member of her team.
By the following morning, the 26-year-old who has spent years in a family group called The Blue Brothers was sitting in the Top 200 on the iTunes singles chart.

Over the course of the blind auditions, a couple other singers crept into the Top 200. Stephanie Rice did it with her emotional cover of Kelly Clarkson’s “Piece by Piece;” Taylor Alexander did it with his unique country version of Cher’s “Believe.”
But Lauren and Chris were the only contestants to crack the Top 200 during what would be the normal voting window on The Voice.
Here’s a look at all the blind audition songs that cracked the Top 200, either overall or on a genre chart. All rankings were taken at 8 a.m. the day after the audition aired.
Keep in mind, as I always note, that some charts — the pop and country charts, in particular — are much more difficult to scale than the others, so it’s very difficult to compare performances between the chart.
