Luke Curran from The Voice Season 30
The Voice returns to NBC on Monday, Sept. 21 with the coaching quartet of Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, Queen Latifah and Riley Green.
Here’s more about Luke:
* On his website, he describes himself as an Americana singer-songwriter. He plays multiple instruments, but typically accompanies himself on guitar. He’s based in Boston.
* He descirbes his music as “shaped by the heartland of northern Michiigan, the sunlit traditions of Florida’s gulf coast and Boston’s vibrant folk revival.”
* As for those multiple instruments, Luke is also a classically trained pianist, according to his web bio.
* As for the Florida influence, he attended the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Fla.
* But at some point, he apparently took a break from music. He released a debut single called “Leaving Home” in late 2024 and writes on social media: “It just feels right to be making music again after a long long time off. Can’t wait to show y’all what’s next.”
* What’s next was a five-song EP called “Hymns” that dropped in the spring of 2025. You can check out a live version of the excellent title track below.
* And he’s planning to release a new song called “State Line” on Sept. 18, three days before The Voice Season 30 premiere.
* Luke says he’s been playing music his “whole life” and his sound has been compared to a combination of Jason Isbell and Tyler Childers.
