In it, RaeLynn plays a supportive girlfriend who’s helping a gal pal cope with a breakup.
She’s also helping the friend ignore cell phone calls from the ex.
In real life, RaeLynn told Entertainment Tonight that she was the one coping with a breakup when she wrote “Lonely Call.”
The story has a happy ending. She eventually married the man: Josh Davis.
But after about eight months of dating, they did break up for a time.
“I wrote the song and everytime (Josh) hears it, he just laughs,” RaeLynn told ET.
“He goes, ‘I always regretted breaking up with you, but listen, you wouldn’t have gotten any of these songs if I didn’t do it.’ I was like, ‘Whatever!'”
Josh might want to take more credit if “Lonely Call” matches the success of “Love Triangle,” RaeLynn’s first single from “WildHorse.” It cracked the Top 30 on Billboard’s Hot Country Singles and Country Airplay charts.
