Plake — Hunter Plake from The Voice Season 12 and his brother Dakota — released their first single Friday.

When Hunter Plake earned a spot on Season 12 of The Voice, he said he and his brother Dakota had been working on an EP.

But they decided to wait to release original music as Plake until after Hunter’s run on the show was complete.

You might say that turned out to be a wise decision.

Hunter wound up being one of the best-charting artists on Season 12, eventually finishing in the Top 6.

In the process, he watched his Instagram fan base grow from about 2,000 to more than 45,000 and his Twitter followers grow from about 250 to more than 30,000.

And Friday, Plake released their first single, a song called “Eden.”

About an hour before its midnight release, Hunter and Dakota posted the song to YouTube.

And fans were loving what they were hearing. Among the feedback:

Leslie Kirkendall: “Been waiting since The Voice to hear you sing again!! Album soon please!”

Tyler Lynch: “Already see myself putting this on Repeat in the car!”

Melody Johnson: “Great start ? can’t wait to hear more from u guys.”

Alexzandra Helena: “This is my new favorite duo!”

Here’s the new song.
