She delivers both on the second song released from that album.
“Quicksand” hit music sites Friday. And like all the tracks on the upcoming album, it’s a Gwen co-write. In this case, her collaborators were Chris Harris and Terri Jo Box.
In a press release, Gwen describes the song as being about being about a man who’s trouble, but who you can’t stay away from.
“Quicksand” will be featured on Gwen’s upcoming album, “Once Upon a Time in the West: Act 1.”
It’ll be out Nov. 17. And it’ll be her first album since 2013.
Not that Gwen hasn’t been plenty busy in the interim. After competing on Season 2 of The Voice, she’s toured with Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert.
She’s currently a member of Miranda’s band and co-wrote three songs on her album, “The Weight of These Wings.”
Miranda returned the favor. She co-wrote “Cadillac,” the first song Gwen released from the upcoming album.
Here’s the new tune.
If the rest of the album is as good as the two songs released so far, I might even forgive Gwen for stealing the name of my all-time favorite Western.
