After finishing fourth among the four major networks for the first two weeks of Season 2, The Four clawed its way to number three in the ratings during the first hour of Thursday’s show.
For the third straight week, FOX’s singing show scored a 0.7 rating among 19 to 49 year olds. But that was still good enough to beat ABC’s The Gong Show (0.5).
Of course, this being The Four, the news couldn’t be all good.
In terms of total viewership, the show still only drew an estimated 2.38 million viewers, the lowest total for the night.
During Season 1, The Four never saw its viewership drop below 3 million. And its rating among 19 to 49s bottomed out at 1.1 on the second show of Season 1.
Thursday’s show marked the first time ever a new singer didn’t join The Four by way of winning a challenge.
Heading into next week, Jesse Kramer, James Graham, Whitney Reign and Sharaya J still occupy the show’s four seats.
