The video was directed by Ravi Dhar; it was co-produced by Prince.
“This was the last project I did with Prince,” Judith writes on Facebook. “It was scheduled to be released in April 2016, but due to Prince’s passing, I decided to cancel its release.
“As time has passed, I am now ready to share this with everyone. He was very excited about this video coming out. It’s time I let it have its place in the world.
“With all the love in my heart. Thank you Prince.”
Following a Top 8 finish on Season 4 of The Voice, Judith became a Prince protege. He produced her 2015 debut album, “Back in Time” and performed on it as a musician.
The song “Back in Time” was the last track on that 11-song album.
Judith was also with Prince when he passed out during a flight following a show in Atlanta in April 2016; the plane had to make an emergency landing, and Price was rushed to the hospital.
Prince survived that health scare, but died six days later, at age 57 on April 21, 2016.
Hill, meanwhile, has continued her solo career.
She released a new album called “Golden Child” last month and debuted a funk/soul cirque-ballet show based on the album on Dec. 5 in Los Angeles.
Here’s the music video for “Back in Time.”
