Curtis Grimes has a new single and five new Texas CMA nominations.

One of the first country artists we ever met on The Voice is still enjoying success eight years later.

In fact, Curtis Grimes has a brand new single out and was just announced as a nominee for five Texas Country Music Association Awards, including Entertainer of the Year.

The new single is “Still,”off 2 a song written by Casey Beathard, Doug McCormick and Kenneth Wright

“I wanted to record another undeniably hit song that would appeal to a large number of people without sacrificing my personal integrity or musical taste and I feel like this is it,” Curtis told TexasCountyPickers.com.

Curtis released two albums in 2018 — “Undeniably Country” and “Faith Based Country Vol. 1.” He also won Texas CMAs for male vocalist of the year and country-Christian artist of the year.

This year, he’s nominated for both of those awards, Entertainer of the Year, and both country and Christian single of the year for the same song, “Had a Thing,” which has nearly 1 million streams on Spotify.

Voting for the Texas CMAs runs through July 15. Another former Voice contestant, Holly Tucker, is also up for Entertainer of the Year and a couple of other awards. And Season 17 American Idol contestant Riley Thompson is among nominees for new artist of the year.

* LACES, aka Charlotte Sometimes from The Voice Season 2, aka Jessica Vaughn, released a new single called “moved.” Jessica says she wrote the song just two months ago with Garen Gueyikian. “When Garen and I got together one Saturday to write, I never thought it would be something we both fell in love with so deeply. We wanted to share this with you as soon as we possibly could,” she writes on her Head Bitch Music Facebook page.

* Moses Stone, a hip-hop artist featured on Season 2, has a new single out called “Feel So Good.” Earlier this year, McDonald’s adopted Mose’s “We Golden” for its Black and Positively Golden marketing campaign.

* Kensington Moore from The Voice Season 7 has released her second single this year, — called “Not Ready.” It follows “I Don’t Like You Anymore,” which also became a music video.

* Davina Leone from Season 12 has released her first new original in nearly a year, a pop single called “Don’t You.” Writes Davina on Instagram: “I never believed i’d be able to do this whole music production thing all on my own and am always humbled that I’ve been provided everything I need to keep bringing creations into this world.” Davina released a post-show EP, “647,” last summer.

* Maiya Sykes from Season 7 has been the featured vocalist on at least a dozen tracks by Scott Bradlee and his Postmodern Jukebox. She’s back at it, teaming up with Scott for a cover of Bing Crosby’s 1932 hit, “Brother Can You Spare a Dime?”

The links above take you to the Apple Music versions of the songs. Here’s a Spotify playlist so you can hear snippets of each song.
