Minus the president and minus armored vehicles, PBS hosted its 39th annual July 4 show — A Capitol Fourth — in Washington Thursday evening.
The event featured John Stamos as host, the National Symphony Orchestra, an all-star entertainment lineup and culminated with fireworks.
In addition to Vanessa Williams, Yolanda Adams and many others, that musical lineup included the winners of American Idol Season 17 and The Voice Season 16.
Maelyn Jarmon had the honor of singing the national anthem for the event. Idol champ Laine Hardy treated fans to his version of Johnny B. Goode.
