The song is the soulful “Never Getting Over You.” Hannah says she wrote it with Matt Kass and Jeffrey James about a year ago, when she first moved to Nashville to start writing music.
“I was bringing a lot of emotions with me as I was going through a lot of change in my life,” she explains on social media.
“The song just took off as we were writing it. I feel such a strong connection to this song for many reasons and I’m so glad it’s being released into the world.
“This feels like a new chapter for me,” she adds, “and I can’t wait to share more of my heart in these songs with you.”
From Lincoln, Neb., Hannah showed up on The Voice as a 24-year-old pre-school teacher with a passion for music.
She wound up making it all the way to the finals as a member of Team Pharrell Williams, finishing behind only Alisan Porter and Adam Wakefield when the Season 10 results were announced.
Since then, she’s released a single called “I Alone Have Loved You” in 2016 and an album of Christmas covers in 2018.
Here’s a snippet of “Never Getting Over You.”
