After American Idol

A happier ending for Trent Harmon in new music video

0
Harmon told Rolling Stone Country that he entered the writing session with a story of driving hundreds of miles to see an ex-girlfriend, only to discover he’d lost his chance with her.

By the time the writing session with Laura Veltz and Jimmy Robbins ended, he had a song called “There’s a Girl.”

And the story has a new twist.

Now Trent calls it the favorite song he’s written to date.

“We crafted a positive outcome because it’s truly crazy what a man will do when he’s in love,” Trent says in an interview you can check out here.

The video follows suit, with some humorous stops along the way.

“There’s a Girl” is the debut single from Trent’s upcoming album for Big Machine Records. Label boss Scott Borchetta has referred to the album as what would happen if Justin Timberlake were to make a country record.

Trent says he realizes the need to get the project done as soon as possible, but is also determined not to rush it.

“I want to get it out as fast as possible, but I also want a quality product,” he says. “I don’t want to get it out just to get a product on the shelf.

It’s unlikely that album will be released before September, which means York area fans might just get to hear some of Trent’s new music when he performs at the York Fair in September.

As I reported earlier this week, he’ll be one of the artists featured on the Froggy 107.7 stage. His show is set for 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10.

The show is free with admission to the fair.
