He turned just one chair during the Season 17 blind auditions.
Yep, folks, that’s part of the background of country singer Jake Hoot, who’s now on the cusp of becoming The Voice’s Season 17 champ.
If he completes that mission, he’ll become the first one-chair turn ever to win a Voice title.
He’s Team Kelly, of course, and that one-chair turn is a bit misleading.
Black wanted to turn during his blind audition. But Blake had used his block on Kelly and was convinced she’d block him should he turn for Jake.
So he kept his chair facing in what turned out to be the wrong direction while Kelly landed one of the show’s best country voices of 2019.
