Anna Grace made American Idol history on Sunday night’s episode.

She became the first Idol contestant to earn a golden ticket based on a moo-off.

Anna appeared on a segment featuring contestants who have been camp counselors.

The segment aired after Katy Perry talked about her experience at her own summer camp in Santa Barbara, Calif.

Viewers heard just a bit of Anna’s audition as she belted out “The Prayer,” nailing a big glory note near the end.

Lionel Richie wasn’t convinced she should advance to Hollywood.

Katy declared Anna has the voice to merit a golden ticket.

Luke Bryan agreed on Anna’s voice, but was torn on whether she should advance.

So Katy suggest a novel way of breaking the tie: a moo-off.

She climbed onto the judging table on hands and knees. Luke did the same.

And they started mooing as a bemused Anna looked on. And cheered Katy on.

Luke broke into laughter first, meaning Katy won the moo-off.

And that meant Anna got the golden ticket and a spot in Hollywood.

Katy even rushed the young singer from Pembroke, N.C., lifting her off her feet and swinging her around in a victory celebration.

Anna’s reaction afterward was priceless.

The 18-year-old college student asked the Idol crew if the judges had ever done that before.

The answer, of course: Never.

“It was crazy,” Anna proclaimed. “I was like, ‘What is going on?’

Added Anna: “I’m going to go home, work hard and show Katy that she didn’t moo for nothing.”
