If you attended your community fireworks display or a family get-together, you likely missed A Capitol Fourth, the annual July 4 concert and fireworks displayed aired by PBS.

If so, you also missed a performance from Season 22 American Idol champ Abi Carter.

Abi performed Miley Cyrus’s “The Climb” during the event, which also featured performances from the Beach Boys, the Temptations, Josh Turner, Yolanda Adams, Lauren Daigle and more.

“The Climb” wasn’t among Abi’s signature songs on Idol. But she had performed it before, at a hometown talent show when she was 10.

“It’s kind of a full-circle moment to be able to come back here (Washington D.C.) and sing it on much more of a national stage rather than at the date festival in my hometown,” she told Pop Culture Weekly.

Since Idol, Abi has released an excellent debut album, “Ghosts in the Backyard,” as well as a deluxe version of the album. A vinyl edition is available through her website.

She also went on her first tour earlier this year and has another planned for the fall — a 15-show jaunt that begins in Houston on Oct. 13 and ends in Portland, Maine on Nov. 6.

In between are stops in Pittsburgh (Oct. 28 at City Winery) and Philadelphia (Oct. 29 at World Cafe Live). Tickets are available here.

Why didn’t “Idol” producers/19E promote Just Sam?

She won her season and then was treated terribly. No album released. She wound up buskering in the subway.

The “Idol” producers wanted Arthur Gunn to win. Hence, they brought him back in that terrible, unfair twist the next season. Shame on them.
