Season 5, The Voice

Adam’s team looks dominant as Voice battles begin

1

In a promo clip for the battle rounds, you’ll hear Adam Levine talking about how he has his best team ever on The Voice.

In this case, it isn’t just hyperbole spewed forth to fit the show’s “can anyone beat Blake” storyline.

Six artists turned four chairs during the Season 5 blind auditions. Four — James Wolpert, James Irwin, Ashley Dubose and Tessanne Chin — landed on Team Adam.

In fact, total the chair turns for Adam’s 12 artists and it comes to 35, just under three per artist.

In contrast, Cee Lo Green has just one singer on his team — Kat Robichaud — who turned three chairs. Clearly, Cee Lo needs to work on his sales pitch.

The other two recipients of four-chair turns — Matthew Schuler and Holly Henry — opted to join Team Christina and Team Blake, respectively.

What does all that mean as the pre-taped battle rounds begin tonight?

Well, I think you can expect lots of steals when the artists from Team Adam square off.

And, remember, the steals now extend into the knockout rounds, which means even more opportunities for the singers who were most impressive in the blind auditions.

Here’s a look at the artists on the four teams by chair turns, with links to a profile on each singer.

Check back for live blogging of the battle rounds, beginning tonight at 8 p.m.
