American Idol Results Recap: Congrats to Lazaro Arbos
While Mariah Carey was rambling on and on Wednesday night, she called Lazaro Arbos courageous. And she was right.

Up until last night, I was pretty much convinced any female who finished below Lazaro Arbos tonight on American Idol would be saved. Now, I’m not so sure. Judging from the judges’ comments last night, they’d be perfectly content to sacrifice Janelle Arthur if it means they could reserve their save to protect Amber Holcomb…
OK, I want the name of the person who reprimanded Mariah Carey. Because they deserve a sharp reprimand of their own. They made Mariah worse.
Wow, has an American Idol judging agenda ever been more transparent than Wednesday night? Here’s how that agenda went …
Mark my word: A female will not go home on American Idol this week. I wrote that in my weekly rankings blog (check out the rankings here). And I’ll repeat it before tonight’s performance show.
Scotty McCreery didn’t have a single song-writing credit on his debut album. That will change with his followup to 2011’s “Clear As Day.”
We’re just an hour away from a complete Season 4 roster for The Voice. Each coach needs just one more artist for his or her team, and I’d be surprised if the show didn’t save some of its best talent for last.
The Voice has already amassed some pretty amazing talent for Season 4, and there are still 16 finalists to meet. We meet those individuals this week, as the show wraps up its blind auditions.
The way I figure it, the American Idol ladies should be enjoying a pretty stress free week. As I’ve noted repeatedly, the Idol judges still have their save tucked away as we head into Top 6 week.
Co-host Luke Bryan was named Entertainer of the Year and Miranda Lambert snagged three honors at the ACM Awards Sunday night. Bryan hosted the show with Voice judge Blake Shelton and beat out Blake, Miranda, Taylor Swift and Jason Alden for the night’s top honor, calling it “the defining moment of my life.”
