That’s the name of the new song he dropped Friday. The country singer explains it in a video on his Facebook page.
“The song really highlights that shared human experience that we’re all living,” he says. “It’s not necessarily just about me fighting for my dream. It’s about us as human beings and how everyone is fighting for something.
“That’s really where the song was born, from my realization of being on the road — that this life we’re living is very similar and different all at the same time.
“One of the greatest things about the song,” he adds, “is that it’s not about winning the fight. It’s about being in the fight. It’s about not giving up. It’s about getting back up when you get knocked down.”
Barrett, from Fayetteville, Ark., was 35 when he auditioned for Season 9 of The Voice and turned four chairs in his blind audition.
He wound up making it all the way to the finals, finishing third behind Jordan Smith and Emily Ann Roberts.
Since then, he’s released a solid country album called “A Room Full of Fighters” (2016) and a fun single called “Your Name” (2017).
And speaking of being on the road, Barrett has a number of shows coming up that you can check out here.
Here’s “Fight On.”
