Blake Shelton took two of the top honors at the CMA Awards Wednesday night.

Blake missed out on a second straight Entertainer of the Year award. That honor went to George Strait.

But Blake won album of the year honors for “Based on a True Story.”

He also won Male Vocalist of the Year honors, besting Keith Urban, Luke Bryan, Eric Church and Jason Aldean.

And just to make things a family affair, his wife Miranda Lambert won yet another Female Vocalist of the Year honor.

Others nominated for that award included Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson.

Carrie, who co-hosted and performed on the show, was also nominated for album of the year.

In fact, former Idols were shut out on the night. Carrie was also nominated for video of the year, but the award went to Tim McGraw for “Highway Don’t Care.”

A live version of the same song by Tim, Taylor Swift and Keith Urban foiled Kelly’s other nomination, for Musical Event of the Year.
