Brittany Kerr, David Leathers Jr. to perform at halftime in Charlotte

Hey, gals, remember American Idol cutie David “Mr. Steal Your Girl” Leathers?

Hey, guys, remember NBA beauty Brittany Kerr? If not, there’s a photo at right as a reminder.

Apparently, they’re both going to perform at halftime next Wednesday when the Chicago Bulls visit Charlotte.

Brittany, a member of the Lady Bobcat dance team, sent out this tweet earlier today: “Great singing session:) excited for the halftime show next wednesday!!Get your tickets now to see me, David Leathers and the Ladycats show!”

I figured we hadn’t seen the last of Brittany. After all, she managed to bring down a couple of websites earlier this year because so many guys went searching for her photos after her American Idol audition aired. Sure enough, she’s featured on the cover of the Spring Fashion Issue of Elevate Lifestyle.

I was hoping we hadn’t heard the last from her. She made it all the way to the final day of Hollywood on Idol, but the show didn’t show any of her Hollywood Week performances.

And the cover songs she promised to post on Facebook post-Idol haven’t landed yet. Though she did sound quite good, minus any sexy outfits, when asked to sing during a couple of radio interviews. That’s right, guys, minus any sexy outfits.

David is the teen who once beat Season 10 Idol Scotty McCreery in a Rip the Hallways competition.

He made it all the way to the final day in Vegas before being cut. Then he was considered for the 13th spots in the male semifinals, the spot that eventually went to the ill-fated Jermaine Jones.

But because he didn’t make the semis, David’s Idol eligibility is still intact.

Considering the success Colton Dixon has had after being in a similiar position a year ago, I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see David crop up again on Idol Season 12.

No details on exactly what’s planned for next week’s halftime show, but I’m hoping someone shoots video and posts it to YouTube.

Besides Charlotte fans need something to cheer about.

The Bobcats are 7-49 and saddled with the worst record in the NBA.
