Idols on the Music Chart

Carrie, Phillip carry Idol on the Billboard charts

It’s a good thing Carrie Underwood released a fourth single from her “Blown Away” album.

And that Phillip Phillips wasn’t a one-hit wonder.

Carrie Underwood sings "All American Girl" with Kaitlyn Finn, 10, of Damascus, Ore., at the Bi-Mart Willamette Country Music Festival east of Brownsville, Ore., last weekend. Finn, who suffered from liver cancer and has received a liver transplant, was granted the chance to sing with Underwood through the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Otherwise, the Billboard music charts would be pretty bare of former Idol contestants these days.

“Gone, Gone, Gone” continues to excel for Phillips.

The song is up to number two on the adult contemporary chart, has cracked the top 20 on the pop chart for the first time and is still in the top 30 on Billboard’s Hot 100.

Carrie’s “See You Again” has climbed to number three on the country airplay chart.

It also hits new peaks this week at number 34 on the Hot 100 and number 22 on the radio songs chart.

In other chart news:

* Mandisa’s new single — “Overcomer” — has climbed to number five on the Christian singles chart. The album by the same name is due out Tuesday.

* Cassadee Pope’s “Wasting All My Tears” has slipped into the Top 30 on the country airplay chart for the first time. Her second single, “You Hear a Song,” debuts at number 25 on the country digital downloads chart. Cassadee won Season 3 of The Voice.

Here’s the complete chart rundown.
