Carrie, Phillip still climbing on Billboard music charts

The latest singles from Carrie Underwood and Phillip Phillips continue to do well on Billboard’s music charts.

Carrie’s “See You Again” looked like it had stalled a month ago.

Now it’s up to number four on the Billboard country singles airplay chart and number eight on the hot country singles chart.

With a boost likely coming from the Aug. 13 release of Carrie’s live concert tour DVD, the single looks like a good bet to continue her string of consecutive singles to hit number one or two on the country charts. That streak now stands at 15.

“See You Again” is also 24 on Billboard’s radio songs chart, which includes all genres of music, and 41 on the Hot 100.

Phillip’s “Gone, Gone, Gone” just won’t go away.

The song has climbed slowly on the charts, having been released more than five months ago, but it’s still climbing.

This week, “Gone” hit new peaks on the Hot 100 (25) and the adult contemporary chart (4). It’s still in the top 10 on Billboard’s rock songs and adult pop songs charts.

The other chart news of note: Mandisa’s new single “Overcomer” moved up two more notches on the Christian singles chart. It now stands at number six.
