Cassadee Pope has a new website, a date with The Voice and, by this time tomorrow, she’ll have her first country single out.

“Wasting All These Tears” (acoustic version embedded below) hits iTunes on Tuesday, giving us an idea of what Cassadee’s been up to since being crowned Season 3 champ of The Voice.

Cassadee Pope releases her first post-Voice single on Tuesday.

Cassadee Pope releases her first post-Voice single on Tuesday.

Of course, those who follow Cassadee on Facebook and Twitter probably already know all that. The 23-year-old from Florida is quite prolific on Twitter and began her own personal countdown to the release date a week ago.

I’ll be interested to see how the song does on the music charts. People seem impressed with how well 16-year-old Danielle Bradbery is doing on iTunes for The Voice during Season 4.

That’s nothing compared to the roll Cassadee was on last winter. She was topping the chart, hitting #1 on a regular basis the day after performance night. And she was accomplishing that in a more competitive environment, going head-to-head with lots of new music released for the holiday shopping season.

But things have changed a bit.

Back then, she was the pop singer who happened to wind up covering lots of country songs as a member of Team Blake.

Now she’s trying to make it as a country artist, signed to Republic Nashville Records, with a debut album set for release later this year.

Of course, someone trying to make a name for herself in country music couldn’t have landed a much better touring gig.

She’s opening for  The Band Perry and Rascal Flatts. That tour kicked off this past weekend. For video of Cassadee performing a pair of songs with Rascal Flatts, head here.

The tour continues through early October; it stops in Pittsburgh on Sept. 6.

But back to the single. Cassadee will perform it Tuesday during The Voice Top 6 results show.

While lots of avid followers have already heard the song, she’ll be introducing it to millions for the first time.

“I definitely have to do the best I can,” Cassadee told The Boot in an interview posted late last week. “It’s live TV, and you can’t fix that.”

Of course, if Cassadee performs as well as she did when performing “Stupid Boy” and “Over You” on The Voice, there will be no fixing required.

I still think Cassadee is The Voice’s best bet yet to become a breakout artist, something the show badly needs. Every season, the coaches keep promising contestants great musical careers, but The Voice has yet to spawn a true star.

Cassadee’s biggest obstacle: She’s a Nashville newcomer bumping heads with a crowded field of aspiring country artists — like recent Idol runner-up Kree Harrison.

Here’s hoping fans remember how special Cassadee Pope is.
