* We might not have to wait long to hear new music from “We Are the Fallen,” featuring season seven contestant Carly Smithson on lead vocals.
That’s the news Carly broadcast to fans last night via Twitter. “I’m in love with our record and it will be in your hands soon,” she wrote as she packed up to leave L.A.
“A year ago, I wondered if I would leave this town with a smile, and I am,” she related in another Tweet.
We Are the Fallen includes three former members of Evanescence; the band announced a label deal with Universal Republic Records in October.
We Are the Fallen also tweets and announced completion of the recording process on Friday. “Album will be released in early 2010,” the band announced.
You can hear “Bury Me Alive,” the band’s first song, on MySpace, as well as check out photos.

* David Hernandez, who finished 12th on season seven of Idol, has released a five-song Christmas album. It’s billed on CD Baby as the “season’s favorite songs done with a power R&B/pop flair.”
You can go there to hear clips of all the songs, which include “O Holy Night” and “Let It Snow.”
David is also participating in the American Idol Stars holiday tour with Alexis Grace, Michael Sarver and Gina Glocksen. Go here for more information on that tour.

* Speaking of Christmas, don’t forget that Jennifer Hudson’s Christmas special airs Monday night at 8 p.m. on ABC.
The show follows Jennifer as she returns home to Chicago for the holidays. It’s titled, “Jennifer Hudson: I’ll Be Home for Christmas.”
A fellow Grammy Award winner, Michael Buble, will also appear on the show and sing two duets with Jennifer — “Baby It’s Cold Outside” and “Let It Snow.”
Jennifer will also perform holiday classics solo, including “Silent Night,” “The Christmas Song” and “O Holy Night.”

* If you missed Adam Lambert on Barbara Walters’ special “The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2009,” you can watch it below.
The show was broadcast on ABC, which booted Adam off three other shows — “Good Morning America,” “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” and “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” — following his controversial performance of “For Your Entertainment” at the American Music Awards.
The Barbara Walters special aired a clip of that performance, skipping the controversial parts. Questioned about that night, Adam says he doesn’t regret it and that it would be ignorant for people to judge him based on one performance.
By Idol standards, the lead single off Adam’s debut album was a major flop, climbing no higher than 61 on the Billboard Hot 100.
