Chris Jamison from The Voice Season 7 released a new single this week.

Former The Voice finalist Chris Jamison released a new single this week.

And he’s pledging part of the proceeds from the sale of “Faith Hope Love” to the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh, scene of that horrific mass shooting on Oct. 27.

“My hope for this song is that it provides healing, even if it’s only a small amount, to those who are currently hurting,” Chris writes on Facebook. “I love my city and am proud to call myself a Pittsburgher.”

Chris told Billboard he actually wrote the song two years ago in response to the Pulse nightclub shootings in Orlando, Fla., which came a week after former Voice standout Christina Grimmie was shot and killed following a performance in the same city.

“I wasn’t sure if it was the right time to put it out, the wrong time to put it out,” he said of the song. “I didn’t want it to seem like I was being opportunistic with it.”

Having a similar event occur so close to home — Chris lives about 20 minutes from the synagogue — convinced him to release the song. It’s message: “Keep faith, have hope, give love.”

“I got to a point where I realized that why I make music is to share it with other people, to bring people together,” he said.

Chris also plans to donate part of the proceeds from two Christmas shows to Tree of Life.

Those shows are set for Dec. 5 and Dec. 6 at the Kelly Strayhorn Theater in Pittsburgh. Matt McAndrew will appear at both shows as a special guest.

For those who don’t recall, Matt and Chris finished second and third, respectively, on Season 7 of The Voice.

Chris has released a good deal of music since, including a 2016 Christmas EP.

Here’s “Faith Hope Love.”
