Season 6 Voice standout Christina Grimmie has announced the release of her first post-show single.
“Must Be Love” will be released Thursday, July 31, on Island Records. That’s the single cover at right.
The press release announcing the single also indicated that Christina is continuing to work on a debut album this summer in addition to zig-zagging around the country as part of The Voice summer tour.
Christina, 20, showed up on The Voice stage with a huge YouTube following and a very impressive independent album (2013’s “With Love”) already out.
But she clearly recognizes the importance of making a splash with her next single.
“This is a chance I’ve never gotten before,” she told fans in a YouNow video chat earlier this week. “I want to prove to everyone that we can make a hit out of this next single.”
Christina finished third on Season 6, behind two of her current tour mates, Josh Kaufman and Jake Worthington.
