It’s still summer, but some David Archuleta fans are likely thinking Christmas already.
That’s because the runner-up from season seven of American Idol will be featured on a Christmas CD/DVD release set for Sept. 6.
The release is called “Glad Christmas Tidings: Live in Concert” and was recorded last year when David performed with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square.
The CD and DVD include 13 tracks.
David is the featured vocalist on “Joy to the World,” “The Cat and Mouse Carol,” “Gesu bambino,” “Los pastores a belen” and “Silent Night.”
Pre-orders for the CD are now being taken at Amazon.com. The DVD will apparently include a backstage interview with David. Here’s the link for ordering it.
In a video blog posted late last week, David says performing with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir last winter was “an amazing experience. Fun and good times.”

Can’t wait!! I was there to see this LIVE and am now waiting for the DVD/CD.
David brought the house down.

Most beautiful heartfelt performance ever. David connects with music into and from his soul and manages to emote those feelings through singing in a way I could never have immagined would touch my heart and soul so much. Hearing David sing live with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra was way beyond a dream come true. For those who did not get to go, buy the CD/DVD you will be uplifted and inspired it will feel like Christmas the moment you start watching and/or listening.
I can’t wait for this! No one sings Christmas music like David.
Have ordered the cd/dvd and can’t wait to get it. I was at the simulcast last year and David was amazing with the MOTAB Choir!!
I wasn’t fortunate enough to be there last year but have ordered copies of the DVD and CDs and can’t wait to have them in my hands! David’s voice is just fantastic and combined with these Christmas songs and the choir…stunning! This will make my Christmas very, very special. Won’t be waiting for Christmas though to enjoy them. 🙂
