Season 5, The Voice

Cole Vosbury in The Voice lead based on downloads?

If he makes the finals, Cole Vosbury might have an edge before the singing even begins.

That’s because he’s put together the best iTunes performance of the five contestants left on The Voice.

Each week, before voting begins, we hear Carson Daly tell us that downloads not only count toward each artist’s weekly vote total but toward their vote total should they make the finals.

Land in the Top 10 on the iTunes Top 200 singles chart, and you get bonus points as well.

Now, Season 5 of The Voice hasn’t been nearly as lopsided as Season 3, when Cassadee Pope was landing in the Top 5 on a consistent basis, or Season 4, when Danielle Bradbery topped her Voice competitors on iTunes nearly every week.

In fact, every one of the five remaining artists has had the most popular iTunes song among that group at one point or another since the live shows began.

Still, Cole has quietly put together the most impressive iTunes resume.

He’s landed in the Top 30 on iTunes with each of his last five songs; no other Voice artist has done that.

His lowest iTunes rank when voting ended was 38 back in the Top 20 round; every other remaining contestant has landed lower.

The only thing Cole hasn’t done is land in the Top 10 on iTunes.

That means Cole’s likely sold the most downloads to date.

But James Wolpert and Will Champlin — who have earned iTunes bonus points — might challenge him in total iTunes votes to this point in the competition.

Here’s an artist by artist look at what’s happened on iTunes so far.

Remember, when you’re looking at the total for each artist, the lower the number the better.
