Within hours of The Voice episode airing Monday night, Dalton Dover had thanked fans for their support and wished best of luck to battle round opponent Dexter Roberts.

Dalton’s time on the show ended following a battle round performance of “Hurricane” with Dexter.

Now Dalton, a 20-year-old country artist from Aragon, Ga., will focus on releasing his first original music.

He told Voice Views he’s working on an EP, which will include a song called “That Ain’t in Her Plans” — “my all-time favorite song I’ve ever written. I can’t wait for the world to hear.”

Here’s what Dalton said about his time on the show, which began with a blind audition cover of Keith Whitley’s “Don’t Close Your Eyes” and a Blake Shelton chair turn.

Voice Views: The battle round was filmed in January. What have you been doing in terms of music or the entertainment industry since then? Has there been a specific post-Voice experience that stands out so far?

Dalton: Since filming the battle rounds, I have been playing shows and living life. Everything has been wild since my blind aired! My favorite experience on The Voice was definitely meeting Brooks and Dunn. You have no idea how star struck I was!

Voice Views: Where do you see your time on the show leading you musically? What do you have planned next? Do you think you’ll be releasing new music in the future and, if so, what can fans expect in terms of sound/timing?

Dalton: I see my time on the show leading me into much bigger things that I never thought in a million years I would be doing. I will be releasing new music very soon, so stay tuned. I’m so excited for everyone to hear a country sound that they’ve never heard before.

Voice Views: Do you think you grew as an artist as a result of The Voice experience? If so, in what way?

Dalton: I have definitely grown as a performer, singer, and entertainer. It was so awesome being on The Voice around so many talented artists and being coached by the one and only, Blake Shelton!

Voice Views: Is there anything else you’d like to add about your experience on the show?

Dalton: Stay tuned for my new music!
