Danielle Bradbery has announced the release of a new album, simply called “Danielle,” on Sept. 6.
And she released a single called “Broken Boy” from that album on Friday, along with an accompanying music video you can check out below.
Danielle is calling this her first new album in six years, her first real album since 2017’s “I Don’t Believe We’ve Met.”
And she thanks fans for their patience in an Instagram post.
“This next chapter of music represents who I am at this time … It’s everything I’ve learned so far and everything I hope to become,” she says in a social media message to those fans.
Danielle told People she needed time to recover from the heartbreak of “a heavy relationship” and to focus on her self-health, both mental and physical.
“I know that journey hasn’t been quick,” she admits in that messaage to fans. “‘Danielle, it’s been six years. We need an album.’ I know. I know. But I needed time to grow, time to heal, time to find myself.
“I needed to try new things. To struggle. To break. And to break again. I just needed time. Sometimes you can’t find yourself by the time the new album cycle rolls around.”
As for the new single, Danielle told People she was presented the song while “in a deep part of a toxic relationship and it puts things into perspective for me.
“It’s just one of those songs that really does gut punch you and it did for me. And to be able to tell the story and go record it is just so special to me.”
“Broken Boy” follows the excellent “Wedding or a Funeral” and “Younger and Wiser” as the third single of 2024 for Danielle, who won Season 4 of The Voice when she was just 16.
Her self-titled debut album, released in 2013, remains one of the highest charting debut efforts from a Voice champ.
In addition to “I Don’t Believe We’ve Met,” Danielle, now 27, released a collection of singles in 2022 called “In Between.”
That collection includes some of her most popular songs, like ” “Stop Draggin’ Your Boots” (75 million streams on Spotify), “Break My Heart Again” (nearly 8 million) and her cover of “Shallow” (more than 22 million).
The new album is already available for pre-saving.

According to the iTunes store, this new album is categorized as Pop. I guess she’s moving away from Country now.
