Friday, I took a look at Danielle Bradbery’s iTunes’ edge on The Voice.
Guess what, folks?
She has the edge in social media as well.
On Twitter, Danielle has nearly 50,000 more followers than Michelle Chamuel and an even wider edge over The Swon Brothers.
And she has picked up about 4,000 in the past two days alone.
On Facebook, she trails Michelle in followers, but only by the slimmest of margins.
Both Danielle and Michelle have about 17,000 more Facebook fans than The Swon Brothers.
What will that mean in terms of votes Monday night after the Season 4 performance finale?
Perhaps nothing. Probably less than Danielle’s lead in iTunes downloads.
Remember, on Season 12 of American Idol, Angie Miller had a wide social media lead over Candice Glover and Kree Harrison and finished third.
And on The Voice, Judith hill has 58,653 Twitter followers.
That’s more than The Swon Brothers. That’s more than Amber Carrington or Sasha Allen.
Yet all three went deeper in the competition than Judith.
Here are the Twitter and Facebook links and the contestants’ number of followers and fans as of 5 p.m. Friday.
Twitter:
Danielle Bradbery: 122,887
Michelle Chamuel: 75,044
The Swon Brothers: 48,660
Facebook:
Michelle Chamuel: 59.975
Danielle Bradbery: 59,715
The Swon Brothers: 42,675

I have noticed close competition between DB and SB on iTunes the last 2 weeks with SB sometimes exceeding DB for the top spots on the general Top 200 and Country Top 200 charts though by only one or two places. It is impressive that at times Danielle had 10 songs listed on the Country and SB had 11 songs there. Later, Danielle still had 10 while SB had dropped to 9 although they STILL held the top spot over her. Apparently, the final performances will mean EVERYTHING in this contest.
You are very correct in your observation Mr. Franklin.
The fan base on social media does NOT mean very much when it comes to predicting the results of these talent shows.
I have been keeping track of social media’s impact on the weekly voting results of these TV shows since season 10 of American Idol & there is minimal correlation between the two.
The same is true for search results from popular search engines like Google, Bing & Yahoo.
Strangely, there are other methodologies & statistical models I use that are highly successful in predicting voting outcomes. None of which involves social fan base or search trends.
Anyone of the three remaining finalists can win, but it most likely won’t depend on their Facebook “Likes” or Twitter “Followers.”
