Danielle Bradbery sings new music to adoring crowd at the York Fair

25

They came by the hundreds and they came early.

They came to the York Fairgrounds to see 17-year-old country music sensation Danielle Bradbery, Season 4 winner of The Voice.

Friends Emma Schneider, 11; Katie Ernst, 11; Molly Devine, 12; and Bradi Zumbrum, 12, arrived at the WGTY Great Country Radio Stage at 10:30 a.m. so they could snag seats just in front of the stage to watch Danielle’s show.

That show, by the way, didn’t begin until eight hours later.

“She’s my idol. She’s my inspiration,” Bradi said. “I’m doing a book report on her for music class.”

Molly called Danielle “an amazing ball of talent” while Katie declared her as “the best singer I’ve ever heard.”

And that singer had lots of new material to showcase during her Saturday night performance, singing her post-Voice single “Heart of Dixie” and four other songs from her upcoming debut album.

Those included “Young in America,” “Dance Hall,” “Never Like This” and “Daughter of a Working Man,” the latter a ballad that has all the earmarks of a country hit. That debut album is set for a November release.

Danielle also did a medley of three songs she sang on The Voice and turned in a brilliant cover of “See You Again,” a song by one of her Idols, Carrie Underwood.

She told the crowd that she posted a cover of the song to YouTube and sent out a link on Twitter. She said she was thrilled to get a tweet back from Carrie that read: “I’m listening, Danielle.” (For audio snippets from the show, head here.)

Danielle also seemed thrilled by the reception she received in York.

Two songs into her show, when there was a halt in the screams of affection and applause, she said: “Wow, there are a lot of you out there.”

And many of them came a long way to see her.

Kate Bridge, 14, traveled two hours from Ashburn, Va., with her mom and Kamryn Kirkpatrick, 14, and Koby Fink, 12, to get front-row seats for the show, arriving at about 1 p.m.

Though Danielle was up against far more experienced singers on The Voice, Kate said she showed the most passion in her music. And Kamryn said her inexperience never showed.

Koby said the fact that she was the underdog and so young probably made her more appealing to Voice voters. “And she’s such a powerful singer,” he added. “Her voice is really mature for her age.”

Destiny Patrey, 12, and Emma Thomas, 12, traveled even farther to see Saturday’s show — three hours from Hellertown, Pa. And they were a little disappointed to find themselves about 200 fans deep in the line for autographs at the end of the show, fearing Danielle would stop signing before they got their turn.

But they left no doubt that they were thrilled with Danielle’s performance and her new music.

“I think it’s amazing” Emma said. “It touches your heart.”

Added Destiny: “She’s like absolutely amazing. You can’t not like her.”

LOL, you must be one of the “Voices” sore loser Michelle fans…I still can’t figure out why losers will take the time to discredit someone trying to succeed in life…perhaps you never had anyone supporting your goals in life, how sad 🙁

Then don’t listen to her. It’s a free country, you are entitled to your opinion. But when you express it in public, then expect people to react to you. My reaction is your have a deaf ear. Go listen somewhere else.

i saw her “performing” i was dissapointed

Were you really “disappointed” that “you” don’t have the drive or talent to do something with your life that may make a positive change on others ? You don’t critique someone by simply saying you were disappointed, without explanation…perhaps you weren’t trying to critique, but instead “bash” ? Jealousy ? … “Disappointed” is a term I usually associate with the way a LOSER feels when their mom takes away their I-Phone …jus sayin !!!

She is such a combination of Talent, INCREDIBLE Voice and if she couldn’t sing I would like her because she is sweet, Pretty and Wholesome….ALL without being a snob or a Stick in the mud!!. She reminds of the sweet, wonderful sides of my own daughter and young granddaughter…who can’t sing a Lick, but I Love their personalities!! NEEDLESS to SAY I am a HUGE Danielle Bradbery fan!! I think she is a incredible young Talented Lady. It’s a shame that a FEW others have to say mean things…when SO MANY GOOD THINGS ARE STARING THEM RIGHT IN THIER FACES, EARS, HEARTS…AND SHOULD I SAY BRAINS?? YES, EVEN BRAINS because I don’t want to stoop to a lower level…GO DANIELLE!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOVED THE NEW SONGS!!!!!

*Yawn* …. LOL … The ONLY thing boring here is a lazy loser, with no life, and no direction or goals of their own, who take it upon themselves to discredit someone trying to make a difference in this world…your parents must be proud ?

She needs a new band! They suck!

For those that think Danielle Bradbery is boring and her band sucks are just looking to judge some one for the affect. Those people usually have no talent or are having a grave disappointment in life and want to take it out on some one. Danielle has a beautiful voice and amazing talent for some one 17 years old. I was in the music business for 50 years, met and worked with some amazing people and it is my expert opinion that Danielle Bradbery will become a major star. Her star will out shine those lame opinions from the likes of Mary, Jean, Mathew and Shirley who should just get a life and leave their nasty opinions to themselves.

Danielle, saw you at the York Fair, what a beautiful voice. You will go far with your career young lady. Thanks for the wonderful show, we all had such a great time. I can’t wait till your new album comes out, I will be first in line to buy it 😉

Sorry for you young folks that think an artist has to get naked and lick plastic to not be boring. This girl can sing and that is all that matters in the end. You don’t have to watch her, so don’t. Just take your childish trash talk and go home.

Danielle is a pure singing talent with a great voice in the tradition of Country Music. It is not about shocking your audience it is about performing a song and bringing us along emotionally. You had 4 major music stars recognize her talent and never said she was “boring”. Danielle is talented and I can not wait till her album is on sale.

I actually feel bad for the people leaving disrespectful comments. The need to come and “blast” on a 17 years old that is out there making it happen for herself, could only show how .. “exciting” your lives must be. ANYWAY I can say I am a fan of Danielle Bradbery, I LOVE her voice and it’s so cool to see her grow as a performer! Can’t wait for her CD to be released.

We are so glad you are pursuing your career as a decent young lady. We followed your journey on the Voice and with Blake as your coach you two nailed it – big time. We have 8 grandchildren and we hope that they have a chance to meet you and you them sometime in the future.

Good Luck, Grammy and Papa from Arizona

Danielle is a good singer so is Michelle. But the thing is Danielle’s talent is natural and she is a lot younger so stop being so tough on Danielle.
