Season 7 American Idol runner-up David Archuleta was a guest on GMA Monday.

Good Morning America invited David Archuleta on the show Monday morning to talk about the first live show of American Idol’s new season on ABC.

But David also dropped a bit of news that should delight his fans.

Interviewed backstage, David said he’s working on a Christmas album that will be accompanied by a series of Christmas shows later this year.

He didn’t specify when the album would be released, but given the mention of Christmas show, you have to think it’ll be later this year as well.

David already released on of the best post-Idol Christmas albums we’ve ever gotten, “Christmas from the Heart,” back in 2009.

Right now, he’s touring to support his latest pop album, the inspirational “Postcards in the Sky,” released last fall.

You can check out the list of upcoming shows on his website.

As for Idol, David said Catie Turner turned in his favorite performance on American Idol Sunday night. He also mentioned Gabby Barrett as seeming ready for prime time and Dennis Lorenzo and Michael Woodard as singers deserving of spots in the Top 10.

“They’re really good,” Idol’s Season 7 runner-up said of the latest cast of Idol hopefuls. “And they give me goosebumps when they sing.”
