In the wake of one of the more bizarre eliminations in the history of The Voice, DeAndre Nico issued a classy parting statement on Instagram.

“You can never take an L (loss) when you’re operating from your heart,” the singer from Port Arthur, Texas, wrote.

“So even though I didn’t win, I still won! The experience on @nbcthevoice itself is a Win for me. I give all honor to God for giving me the exposure needed for my next steps in life.

“To my family, Voice family and fans, there’s no way I can personally thank all of you, but know that I love you all entirely.

“All is well on my end,” he added. “My journey continues. Now y’all get DeAndre Nico himself. There’s work to be done. Stay tuned.”

DeAndre, 23 when he auditioned for The Voice was eliminated along with Dave Fenley Tuesday night.

Both performance save songs in hopes of receiving the show’s instant save, determined by tweets over the last few minutes of the broadcast.

The save instead went to Reagan Strange, DeAndre’s Team Adam Levine colleague, who was sick and unable to perform.

When the show took down the vote graphic, Reagan held the tinniest of margins over DeAndre. Dave, of Team Blake, trailed by a significant margin.

Making the situation more bizarre: While commenting on DeAndre’s save performance, Adam asked viewers to save Reagan instead.

Nevertheless, DeAndre thanked Adam for his support in an unusually brief closing comment on the show.

As of 1 a.m. eastern time, neither Adam or Reagan had commented about Tuesday’s outcome on social media.

Adam severely crossed the line. His job is to coach his team, not to use his stardom to sway people into picking his favorite. Andre should be brought back and Adam should be off for the remainder of the season. Very wrong on every level

Last night was very disappointing. Adam was totally out of line to sabotage one of his own. I think his time on the voice has run it’s course. What an ego!!!

That was cold for his coach to do that to him. Adam should be fired you are not to publicly choose favorites (not the coach)

đŸ–•đŸŒYOU ADAM LEVINE! You were so unprofessional tonight with your pathetic speech to save someone who didn’t battle for her spot! It WAS DISTRUBING to say the least when you said ‘you had a very special relationship with Regan and called her your girl! I hope they replace you next season! DUMBASS DOUCHE BAG!

Adam has already been announced as a Season 16 coach and that’ll be the case unless things have changed in the past couple of days.

So adam showed what a b@$turd he is and no one in there right mind should EVER trust his backstabbing a&&. I’m encouraging everyone I know to NEVER spend one red cent on anything that you might in any way benefit from! It goes without saying but definitely bears repeating that you are a magnemoeously unethical JERK!

Adam that choice you made was not fair at all! I am sorry she was sick but she should have been eliminated. DeManded should have remained in the contest.
