Mark Hood, Barrett Baber and Jordan Smith each turned four chairs and landed on different teams.

Siahna Im and Braiden Sunshine earned spots on the show at age 15, just months after it crowned its youngest winner ever.

Keith Semple and Kota Wade used their experience from fronting bands to shine during the blind auditions.

And Nadjah Nicole made perhaps the most stunning coaching decision of the night, deciding to join Team Blake though he’s unfamiliar with Janelle Monae, the singer of her audition song.

All in all, it added up to a promising start for Season 9 of The Voice.

For a recap of the show, head here. And keep checking back. I’ll be posting bio blogs on all the singers who land a spot on Season 9.

Here are photos of the eight artists who landed spots on the show.
