Elise Testone from Season 11 of American Idol is putting the finishing touches on her debut CD.

And she told FOX news in Myrtle Beach on Friday that the album will feature a special duet.

Elise Testone posted this photo of herself with Darius Rucker to Facebook back in April.

The guest singer: None other than Darius Rucker, most recently of country music fame and best known outside country circles as the front man for Hootie and the Blowfish.

Now this isn’t an out-of-the-blue type collaboration.

Both Elise and Rucker have roots in South Carolina — Charleston, more specifically. And back in April, Elise played a pair of dates with Hootie and the Blowfish at the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach.

But it’s still a pretty special deal for Elise, who told FOX news the song is likely to become the album’s first single.

“When I heard his voice on it and realized I wrote it and how hard I’ve worked on the journey … every time I hear it, I just can’t stop crying. I can’t wait to share it with everyone,” Elise said in an interview you can check out below.

As for the album, “In This Life” — it will likely be out in the fall and will feature 12 tracks, all originals, Elise says.

Elise also has some upcoming tour dates scheduled in the northeast, including a stop at the World Cafe Live in Philadelphia on Wednesday, July 24. Tickets are $15.
