Last week, Ellie Lawrence was eliminated from The Voice.

This week, the 26-year-old launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund a debut EP.

Her goal is to raise $5,000. And as of 7 p.m. Monday, she had already reached the $1,700 mark. with 29 days left to go in the campaign.

Ellie’s response on Twitter: “Y’all are making my heart explode!!!”

The blue-haired singer-songwriter made a splash on iTunes with her blind audition cover of “We Don’t Have to Take Our Clothes Off” on The Voice.

She landed a spot on Team Gwen, was eliminated in the knockout round, then brought back for last week’s live playoffs as Gwen’s comeback selection.

Her cover of Elle King’s “Ex’s and Oh’s” hit number 43 on iTunes, second best on Team Gwen. But Jeffery Austin and Braiden Sunshine advanced on the basis of fan voting. And Ellie was eliminated for a second time when Gwen awarded her save to Korin Bukowski.

Answering questions from Voice Views late last month, Ellie indicated she’d already starting working on post-Voice music.

“A lot of the songs I wrote while on the show, so it all has such a personal meaning to me during the most crazy and exciting time of my life so far,” she said. “I can show the world my true voice and personality more so than the snippets that they got to see on the Voice.”

Head here to check out that Kickstarter campaign and the rewards Ellie is offering donors.

Oh, and the anticipated delivery date on digital downloads of the new music: January 2016.
