Former NFL player and Voice contestant Esera Tuaolo is planning a special event in conjunction with the Super Bowl.

And nearly all of his Season 13 Team Blake Shelton colleagues are taking part.

The event is the first-ever Esera Tuaolo’s Inclusion Party, something he’s hoping will become an annual event.

This turned out to be the perfect year to start. Minnesota is hosting the Super Bowl, of course. Esera lives in Minnesota.

And the Vikings are one of the teams he planned for during his nine-year career as a defensive lineman.

It wasn’t until after that career ended that Esera came out as gay.

“It’s not a gay party, it’s not a straight party, it’s an inclusive party. Everyone is welcome to this party,” Esera told outsports.com.

But he added: “When you create something like this, you put something on the table to be talked about.”

The party is set for Wednesday night at the Pourhouse in Minnesota. Tickets begin at $50 and proceeds benefit Hate is Wrong, a nonprofit with the mission of fostering diversity in sports and eliminating bullying among youth.

Entertainers will include — now get this — Red Marlow, Keisha Renee, Adam Cunningham, Mitchell Lee, Rebecca Brunner, Anna Catherine DeHart, Dennis Drummond, Kristi Hoopes, Ryan Scripps and Natalie Stovall. Like I said, that’s nearly everyone who started Season 13 of The Voice on Team Blake.

On Facebook, Esera has also posted a list of former and current NFL players who plan to attend, including Terrell Suggs and Antonio Gates.

Adidas has signed on as a sponsor of the event.
