Casey James, New Idol Music

Fans’ long wait over; Casey James album out Tuesday

Casey James arrives for the Academy of Country Music Awards. (AP Photo)The day Casey James fans have been waiting for arrives tomorrow.

Meaning the guy who finished third on Season 9 of Idol will release his debut album, almost two years after his run on Idol ended.

Casey’s Season 9 colleagues — Crystal Bowersox and Lee DeWyze — released albums by the end of 2010, to lukewarm success.

Casey has said he could have rush-released an album to capitalize on the buzz surrounding American Idol and that year’s summer tour as well, but wanted to make sure he got his debut album right.

Casey co-wrote nine of the 11 tracks on the album, including lead single “Let’s Don’t Call It a Night,” which reached a new peak of 24 on Billboard’s country singles chart last week.

If you’d like to hear other tunes from the album, there’s no need to wait.

Casey’s been unveiling a song a day on his website. Actually, his website includes links to other sites that are hosting the songs, with some running contests in conjunction with the album release.

That would include, for instance, Taste of Country, which is giving away an acoustic guitar signed by Casey. Head there to hear “Love the Way You Miss Me.”

You don’t have to go anywhere to listen to “Crying On a Suitcase” or “Drive,” both of which I’ll post below.

The acoustic version of DRIVE has to be one of my all-time favorite songs!! I’ve been listening to his new album all day. Since I haven’t had the chance to pick it up yet, I’m so glad he has the whole thing streaming on his Website 😀 http://www.caseyjamesofficial.com/home

I had the pleasure of seeing casey james at a private acoustic show in new york and man, the guy is great! He’s so down to earth, so talented, so funny, and so real. It’s so great to see someone go so far in the industry and still maintain their true character and personality. The fact of the matter is… he’s a born country-boy born to play country! Anyway, I’m a huge fan, love the new album, been rocking it straight solid for the past two days!
