The song is his new single, “4 Pockets;” the album — “A Good Storm” — is his first since winning Season 8 of The Voice and will be released May 13.
How was the performance received?
Well, an hour after his performance aired, “4 Pockets” was sitting at number two on the iTunes’ singer-songwriter singles chart.
And four other Sawyer songs — released on a November EP and also included on the new album — were in the Top 10 on that chart.
Those include Sawyer’s first post-show single, “Take It All,” and a fabulous duet with Mia Z, another Season 8 Voice standout, called “Stranger.”
Pretty impressive, right?
“A Good Storm” is available for pre-order on iTunes. The album — and all sorts of bundles, including t-shirts and a poster — is also available through Sawyer’s website.
It’ll be very interesting to see how Sawyer’s album does.
Earlier this year, Season 9 winner Jordan Smith scored the most successful debut album from a Voice winner yet when he released “Something Beautiful.”
That album debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 and had first-week sales of 54,000. It’d be nice to see Sawyer top that.
