All year long, Jessica Sanchez and Phillip Phillips have been doing weekly interviews and answering questions on American Idol’s website.

If you haven’t been checking back on a regular basis, you might have missed some fun facts about the two singers who will square off Tuesday night for the Idol title.

So let’s catch you up. Here goes …

Favorite Male Artist

Jessica:  Eminem. He isn’t a singer but he raps with so much conviction and feeling.

Phillip:  Probably Jonny Lang, because he has my favorite voice of any singer.

Favorite Female Artist

Jessica:  Beyonce, she’s a very empowering woman, amazing performer and vocalist.

Phillip:  Probably Hayley Williams (of Paramore), she can SAAAANNNNGGGG

The first concert you attended:

Jessica:  Christina Aguilera

Phillip:  Well it was the Showdown (they were ‘big’ to me).

What album would your friends be surprised you own?

Jessica:  I guess the strangest album I own would have to be Etta James, only because she’s one of the older artists.

Phillip:   Van Halen probably. Ha-ha, haven’t listened to it in forever. I bought it for one song.

What’s your dream song to perform:

Jessica:  “How Come You Don’t Call Me Anymore”

Phillip Phillips:   My own songs

What’s been the most unique job/chore you’ve ever had? 

Jessica:  I’ve done a Cricket (cell phone) commercial. That was pretty fun!

Phillip:  Working at my dad’s pawn shop. Ha-ha. So many different people and things come through there.

What’s the most challenging part of the show?

Jessica:  Watching everyone leave. It sucks. The perk about that is we’re all going on tour after the show.

Phillip:   Taking care of my health. Sometimes it gets a little tough. Just not getting too down about it.

Favorite mentors:

Jessica:  My favorites have to be will.i.am and Akon because they’re, like, in my generation and understand  the kind of music I want to make.

Phillip:   It’s been interesting. Some were very good and some were not so good. Stevie Nicks was probably my favorite.

Favorite part about the Idol mansion?

Jessica:  The closet is the best because I have tons of clothes and living in that hotel before was a no-no. I couldn’t fit my clothes anywhere.

Phillip:    The ping-pong table. I used to be pretty good at it at one time.

Do you have a favorite quote, phrase or personal motto / words to live by?

Jessica:  Work hard. Stay humble.

Phillip:   When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace; Jimi Hendrix said that I’m pretty sure.
