Gabby Barrett always said “I Hope” was the song she wanted to launch her post-American Idol career as a county singer.
It’s done that and then some.
A year after its initial independent release, “I Hope” has hit number one on the country charts for Gabby, now a Warner Nashville artist.
It’s been the most streamed country song on the Billboard charts for the last four weeks. It’s been top in digital song sales for four weeks too.
Gabby just released a remix of the song featuring Charlie Puth.
And, perhaps most exciting of all for Gabby fans, an album is on the way. In fact, fans can begin pre-ordering that album on Friday.
“I’m so excited about this album,” Gabby said in a Monday social media message to fans. “I’ve been writing music for two years, and it’s definitely going to be an album worth listening to.”
Oh, as for “I Hope” … it’s been streamed more than 64 times. On Spotify alone.
Gabby placed third on Season 16 of American Idol.
