Two years after releasing her post-Idol debut album, Haley Reinhart is back.
And what a comeback! She’s returning as a body-paint wearing alien, determined to make everyone on planet Earth have a good time.
In cast you missed it, the third-place finisher from Season 10 released a new video and single called “Show Me Your Moves” last Thursday.
The video was funded through an Indiegogo campaign Haley launched earlier this year. I’ve embedded it below. Get ready for lots of dancing. And a cameo appearance by one of Haley’s frequent collaborators, Season 10 colleague Casey Abrams.
Haley told her hometown Chicago Tribute how the video came about.
“I brought the song to a buddy (Danni G.) who told me ‘We should do a music video for this – maybe a B-boy, break-dancing type thing.’
“That branched out into super galactic craziness. I give him a lot of credit. He has a lot of friends that are world class dancers. We utilized that and tapped into the festival scene with a lot of really funky and space-y clothes and tribal painting. I figure this is my time to be as creative and free as I want. I took advantage of my not being with a major label.”
Haley told Yahoo Music the video was shot in the Majave Desert and the crew was warned to beware of everything from rattlesnakes to a firing range off in the distance.
“Danger never felt so good.”
Here’s the video …

I wish Haley had used that money to release a second and third album instead of letting her “buddy” cut his teeth on directing. If this is all I get after waiting well over 2 years for new music from Haley, then I think I’m done following and supporting her because it’s just not worth it.
