After The Voice

Hannah Kirby kicks off her post-Voice career with ‘Power’

Hannah Kirby from The Voice Season 8 has released a new single, "Power.". One of the Season 8 standouts on The Voice has released her first single.

Hannah Kirby put out “Power” early this month, and just released the accompany lyric video.

Hannah was 20 when she auditioned on The Voice, and she was fortunate to land a spot on Season 8.

I say that because only one spot of the 48 remained when she finally got to audition. Had Blake Shelton selected one of the singers who auditioned before her, she wouldn’t have had the opportunity to try out.

The young lady from Texas wound up making the most of that good fortune, advancing all the way to the Top 8 before being eliminated.

Along the way, she and teammate Sarah Potenza turned in one of the best performances of the battle round when they performed “Gimme Shelter.”

As a soloist, Hannah cracked the Top 50 on iTunes twice, with her covers of “Shout” and “We Don’t Need Another Hero.” Powerful vocals and high-energy performances were her trademarks.

Hannah told a local TV station that she was already working on an album of originals when the opportunity to audition for The Voice came up.

“Power” makes for an intriguing and impressive first release. Oh, and don’t jump to conclusions. This Texas gal used to sing country music, but now classifies her sound as alternative rock. You can check out that lyric video below.

You can keep up with Hannah through her website; she has a number of shows booked in the Texas area. On Twitter, she’s @IamHannahKirby.
