Wright is hoping the third time in the charm on American Idol.

She’s one of the returnees for Season 15, having had her auditions featured on the show the past two years.

This season, she was part of a night one montage segment with Shevonne Philidor and Kory Wheeler.

But we got to watch a snippet of her performance of Kacey Musgraves’ “Follow Your Arrow” and hear at least a little of the judges’ feedback.

Jennifer Lopez said she loved Laurel’s performance; Keith Urban complimented her on having the singer-songwriter vibe, yet proving she could perform.

Laurel said auditioning for the same trio of judges a third time allowed her to be more confident. Plus it helps that the judges recognize her when she walks into the audition room.

“The exposure was really great the first two years,” Laurel said in a hometown TV interview you can watch here. “I’m hoping to get that same exposure or more this year.”

Next, of course, comes Hollywood Week.

“The past two times have been the most stressful weeks of my entire life,” Laurel, 19, said in that same interview. “When I get home, I just sleep for days.”

Perhaps, but Laurel has been busy beyond American Idol. She has moved from Maryville, Tenn., to Nashville so she can focus on a career in country music.

She released a nine-track album called “Always Remember Me” that’s available on iTunes.

And she is now part of a duet called Young Fables with guitarist, songwriter and boyfriend Wesley Lunsford. They’re planning to release a debut CD on Feb. 6.

For more on the Young Fables, head to their website. An impressive song called “Two” is streaming there.

Below are two more samples of Laurel’s music.
