And fan voting will determine eight of the spots in the Season 14 Top 12.

Monday night, when all 24 singers perform, the top vote-getter from each team will earn a pass to the Top 12.

The remaining artists will perform Monday (Team Blake and Team Alicia) and Tuesday (Team Adam and Team Kelly), again with the top vote-getter from each team advancing, though results won’t be announced until the end of Monday’s show.

Each coach then chooses one more artist from his or her team to complete the Top 12.

So how do you vote?

First off, if you haven’t downloaded The Voice app yet, you might as well break down and do so. You’re going to have 10 times more voting power if you do.

That’s because when Carson announces that the voting window is open for a certain team, you can use the app to vote up to 10 times for each artist on that team.

In fact, according to the official rules, “app voting is limited to 10 votes per artist per-email address or valid Facebook account.

So with at least three email addresses and one Facebook account, I’m presuming I could cast 40 votes for a single contestant. I haven’t tried it yet, but that’s the way the rules read.

The only other form of live voting available during the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday shows comes via Twitter. And here’s why I recommend downloading the app: Twitter voting is limited to one vote per artist per Twitter account.

I have three. So I could vote three times for my favorite on Twitter compared to, theoretically, 40 times via the app.

If you do decide to vote via Twitter, you need to use specific hashtags. Here those are:

IMPORTANT: Note that you need the last initial when voting for Jackie Foster and Jackie Verna. That’s going to be important and it’s going to be tricky for fans of those artists. A #VoicePlayoffsJackie vote will go to no one.

Some misspellings will still count as votes, but they have to be one of four official misspellings sanctioned by the show. No joke. You can check out the accepted misspellings here.

And West Coast folks, The Voice swears it cares about you too. It promises to alert you via Twitter and app on when the voting windows are open, so you too can vote.

So follow along if you don’t have anything better to do between 5 and 7 p.m. Monday or 5 and 6 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday. And if you don’t mind voting without seeing a single performance.
