Has Season 12 of The Voice found a front-runner?

Last week, after the battle round match between Hunter Plake and Jack Cassidy aired, their performance of “Dancing on My Own” soared to number 25 on iTunes overall singles chart.

That was easily the best performance for a song from the show so far this season.

Monday night, Hunter’s knockout round match with Johnny Gates aired. And Hunter, singing for Team Gwen Stefani, is tearing up iTunes again.

His slow-downed version of “I Want to Know What Love Is” is number 37 on the overall singles chart. It’s number 11 on the pop singles chart.

And, as of noon EST, it was the only song from Monday’s show to crack the Top 200 on the overall singles chart.

As of noon, six of the eight songs available from Monday’s show had cracked the Top 200 on a genre chart.

Also noteworthy: Team Adam Levine’s Josh West was sitting at number 10 on the rock chart and Team Alicia Key’s Chris Blue was sitting at number 11 on the R&B singles chart.

Do keep in mind, however, that those charts are typically easily to scale than the pop or country singles charts.

Here’s where all the songs were sitting as of noon, which is when voting ends following a live performance show on the Voice.
