Jacob Miller from The Voice Season 18

* Jacob Miller from Season 18 released “Around My Head” on Friday. The nine-song collection marks his second album and his first since he appeared on the show. Three songs — “Lonely Nights,” “Leave” and “It’s You I Like” — had already been released; the rest are new. The latter is a Fred Rogers cover featuring a vocal assist from Jacob’s young nephew, Arlo. Jacob says he’s been working on the album for the past two years. “It feels like such an exhale to get this collection of tunes out there, and I hope you are finding your own story between the folds of these songs,” he writes on Instagram. Standout tracks include “New Places” and “Before Things Changed.”

* Wolfchild, the band fronted by Season 8 contestant Gabriel Wolfchild and his brother Elion TruthHeart, has released “The Earth As Seen from the Moon.” It’s an 11-song collection and the band’s first album since 2017’s “Nothing Like These.” The Wolfchild website describes the album as including “tales of love and loss, socio-political challenges, and ancestral roots. The album takes you on a nostalgic journey both reminiscent of both 60’s artists like Nick Drake, Simon and Garfunkel, as well as more contemporary avant-garde sound experimentation you might only expect form projects like Fleet Foxes or Radiohead.”

Joanna Serenko from The Voice Season 18

* Joanna Serenko, a semifinalist in Season 18, has released her debut album, a 14-song collection called the “The Best of Me.” Joanna said she started working on the album in her bedroom when she was 18, which was her age when she auditioned for The Voice. “To see where it’s come and all the amazing things that evolved is so heartwarming,” she says. The album opens with the lovely title track. “Sisters of Nostalgia” got the music video treatment. Other standout tracks include “Good Side,” “Nobody Else” and the glorious “Need a Day.”
