After The Voice

Jake Worthington shares a track from his upcoming EP

0

We haven’t heard much from Jake Worthington since his second-place finish on Season 6 of The Voice.

That’s because he’s been working on new music.

Now he’s planning to drop a debut EP next month, with a pre-order date to be announced soon.

Monday night, Jake posed a challenge to fans. If he got 250 retweets on a Twitter post, he’d post a preview of one of the songs from the EP.

Fans met the challenge, of course. And Jake posted a full-length version of “This Damn Memory.”

Gotta say, his voice sounds superb on the song, which he co-wrote with Brandyn Steen and Drew Gregory.

Jake was just 17 when he auditioned for Season 6 of The Voice and scored a spot on Team Blake with his cover of Keith Whitley’s “Don’t Close Your Eyes.”

You’ll recall that he had auditioned for Season 5 and failed to turn a single coaches’ chair.

The second time around, he turned three chairs and advanced all the way to the finals, where he was bested only by Josh Kaufman.

Listen to the new song now; according to Jake’s most recent tweet, it’s only going to be available for a short time.
