The guy who begged American Idol fans to give metal a chance is serving up his share these days.

Of course, what would you expect when you pair James Durbin with Quiet Riot guitarist Alex Grossi for a project called Maps to the Hollywood Scars.

The duo released their first EP, a five-track Vol. 1, last week. And a second EP is already in the works with an anticipated spring release.

James and Alex said earlier that met in Las Vegas in the fall of 2016 and started bouncing musical ideas off one another.

Eventually, they decided the songs they were creating together were too good not to release.

Among the rockers on the EP, be sure to check out “Roads.” The duo have released the power ballad “Till Death” as the lead single. It also features Dizzy Reed of Guns N’ Roses on keyboards.

“We decided to release our ballad ‘Till Death’ as the lead single because, number one, no one is telling us we can’t, and number two, we feel like this song has such a strong message to anyone that’s ever lost something they love more than anything,” James told Yahoo Music.

Here’s the lyric video for “Till Death.”
