She’ll do a special tribute to Whitney Houston, who died on Saturday at age 48.

Houston won six Grammys during her career, including three in 1993 for “I Will Always Love You” and the soundtrack for “The Bodyguard.”

Jennifer has one Grammy to her credit, winning in 2008 for Best Female R&B album for her self-titled debut.

Tonight, she’s supposed to sing Houston’s mega-hit “I Will Always Love You.”

The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Jennifer was overcome with emotion during rehearsals of the song this afternoon.

And LL Cool J, host of Sunday’s Grammys, gave Jennifer a huge compliment in the pre-show, saying she’s a different singer, but the closest we have to a Whitney Houston now that she is gone.

Jennifer will be one of three former Idol contestants performing in the show, set to air at 8 p.m. on CBS.

Carrie Underwood will perform a duet with Tony Bennett and Kelly Clarkson is to sing her “I Don’t Want to Stay” duet with Jason Aldean.

Check back.  I’ll be posted photos from the red carpet and the ceremony throughout the evening.

I’m now so sorry. This woman was no doubt one of my preferred performers.
